Our Favorite Fall Cocktail

The new NoMad LA in always-buzzy Downtown Los Angeles is one of our favorite spots to have a cocktail. The former bank building has been transformed into a luxurious hotel and drinking den, complete with high vaulted ceilings, low-lit chandeliers and plush velvet couches arranged into little nooks that are perfect to slip into when the weather starts to get cool.

When we asked the bartenders, led by drinks maestro Leo Robitschek, to share one of their favorite fall cocktails with us and what we got is signature NoMad: elegant, flavorful and balanced—but doesn’t take itself too seriously. After all, it’s called the Banana Dance. You can’t get more playful than that.

So here’s the cocktail, in all its warm, nutty, spiced glory. It’s what we’ll be serving at our little Halloween get-together this year, because costumes plus cocktails is always a good time.
